Dry Needling, Trigger Point Dry Needling and Intramuscular Therapy Course: Level 2 The Extremities Vancouver, BC
Featuring Dr. Ivo Waerlop
Course Date: Friday, November 4th to Sunday, November 6th, 2016 (3 Full Days)
This course, sponsored by Dr Ivo Waerlop and F.I.R.E will meet all of the CPTBC College practice standards set out under the self-declaration model for Physiotherapists practicing acupuncture/dry needling in BC. In order to register, participants are required to have a minimum of 1200 practice hours over a five year period. Proof of a current/active Physiotherapist license will be required.
All course participants must pass both a theoretical and practical exam on this course and demonstrate safety and competency with the dry needling technique in order to receive a certificate of completion and begin implementing this tool into daily practice. A passing grade for the practical and theoretical exam is 80% or greater. Further, as per the CPTBC college guidelines, participants must submit a self declaration to the college upon completion of this course in order to be put on to the dry needling roster. Further details regarding this can be found on the CPTBC webpage under college practice standards (see the link below).
This is a dry needling course unlike any other you have taken or that is currently offered. Dr. Waerlop takes you through the anatomy, physiology and neurology of what you need to know about this very pertinent and timely modality, providing many clinical examples and applications throughout the course.
Similar to Part 1, Part 2 spans 3 days and covers the appendicular skeleton with a strong focus on the foot and gait. Participants will return to their practices Monday morning with tools that they can immediately implement, along with exercises to support the work they are doing. Extensive references are given to support this treatment technique which can be used to educate both patients and potential referral sources. Comprehensive hands on training with small class sizes and individualized attention are used to help the clinician master the material and be confident in their new skill set.
**Note:A written and practical exam must be completed by all participants, with a passing grade of 80% achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion for this course. If a participant does not achieve a passing grade on the exam, opportunities for a re-take of the exam will be made available at an additional cost of $100.
